Here in Bludhaven, crime obviously runs rampant. Every type of crime, running from murder to robbery, happens every day. But what about the crimes that don’t happen in broad daylight, the crimes that go on in the dark basements where everything reeks of cruelty and the criminals don’t have powers. Who takes care of them?
Some would say the police do. However, there’s nothing wrong with a little outside help, which exactly what a man calling himself Blue Rhapsody has done. Last week, the so-called “Dapper Detective” states he interrogated over fifty druggies hanging around one of Bludhaven’s slums, gaining information little by little until he was able to discern the whereabouts of one of the city’s biggest distributors of crystallized methamphetamines, better known as crystal meth. Breaking in through a window, Blue confronted the lead distributor in his building, every room filled with labs producing enough meth to feed the addictions of every addict in Bludhaven. A fight ensued, the hero whipping out his trademark escrima canes against a team of meth lab workers armed with pistols and machine guns. It didn’t look good for Blue Rhapsody, that is until in comes the hero Nightwing to aid in the fight. Side by side, the two were able to take out each of the distribution workers, but the night was not over yet. These distributors were not the top of the food chain, so they needed to take it a step further.
After hacking the distribution computers, Blue and Nightwing decrypted the files holding the location of the meth boss, a man calling himself Mr. December, and made their way to his apartment. Ignoring the ramifications of breaking-and-entering, the two heroes found the meth boss in bed, sound asleep. They woke him up, hoping to scare the bejeezus out of him, only to find themselves staring down the barrel of the man’s elite security team. Always the theatrical type, Blue Rhapsody pointed out the fact that before waking Mr. December, the two had wired a timed bomb somewhere in the apartment. The security team fled, the few staying behind being put down by the heroes, with only Mr. December left.
On a side note, psychological profiles of December have shown him to be somewhat obsessed with ice, be it in the form of frozen water or crystallized methamphetamines. Subsequently, in the situation he was able to “keep his cool”. Originally skeptical of the bomb, he stared down the two heroes as they relayed to him their orders: keep out of the meth business, stay out of trouble, or we’ll be back.
Just to show him they meant it, the real fireworks were activated.
Through the glass wall of Mr. December’s penthouse, a series of explosions, one after the other, could be seen in the distance. As described by Nightwing, each explosion was that of each of his meth labs, visited before they had arrived at his apartment. Blue Rhapsody then revealed the last bomb, December checking beneath his bed to find it, only for the villain to look up and find the heroes gone.
So, if you were wondering what that explosion at the top of Palm Towers last night was all about, now you know. They current whereabouts of Mr. December are unknown, but he may very well be plotting his revenge right now. Thankfully we have detectives like Blue Rhapsody and heroes like Nightwing to save the day.
