Bio: Def-Force

Corbin Doyle was always gifted when it came to technology. In his childhood while other kids were playing video games on computers and consoles, Corbin was taking them apart to see how they work then tried to make them better. He had a passion for tinkering all his life, this passion led to him applying and being accepted to MIT, and upon graduating there being recruited by S.T.A.R. Labs. Because of his skills and knowledge Corbin was the problem solver at S.T.A.R. Labs. When a project hit a stonewall and looked like it was going to be abandoned Corbin would be assigned to the team to help them. Corbin was always successful in helping projects get back on track and completed, however he always wanted to be a project lead, he wanted to be the one to invent something instead of helping others finish their inventions.

Justice League makes Public Plea

Members of the Justice League appeared on TV this morning stressing the need for the public's help in bringing the Elemental Killer to justice. "We're close to ending this thing, with the security images out there, we've got our first look at the perpetrator. Someone out there has to know something" Superman stressed. Forensics has linked the killer to all five of the Elemental murders ending with the murder of Elemental strongman, Brute, two days ago.

Who is Death Drive?

While many are unaware of his affiliations, a new 'mask" on the streets of Gotham has been the source of plenty of speculation. Sources allege that a man known as Death Drive has been approaching street-level informants about many of the city's "don't ask, don't tell" secrets, one in particular, the location of The Coalition.

Is this a new vigilante on Gotham's streets, or an assassin in the mold of the Elemental Killer? Only time will tell. We''ll be sure to provide more information as it becomes available.

UPDATE: Otisburg's Tap Room Attack Coordinators Discovered

The DP just learned that the attacks that shook up the Gotham underworld one night ago was coordinated by The Coalition. We were able to finally get some more info from our Sources who said that the leader of the group, Force, drew the battle plans while the field commander, Deacon, directed traffic in the actual skirmish. Even though they clearly had the fight won, Force gave out the call to all heroes in the city via Deacon's comm hack to converge on the night club and take down any villain in sight. Some of the leagues that answered the call was the Legacy of Truth and the New Gods. After beating down every criminal in the club, they moved on to Knight's Stadium and took down Killer Frost and any of the super villains she had enlisted to protect her without much effort. Once all the criminals were hauled off and the clean up began, the members and other leagues disappeared into the night. We also have it on good authority that the take down spree Deacon went on a few nights ago was a precursor to this incident. As always, the Coalition could not be reached for any type of official comment.

Introducing: Events

Greetings DCUO Community,

As PVP Competition has devolved to gankfests with little to no resolution or plot, we decided to reprint one of the best suggestions for resolving it. EVENTS.

GCPD Overwhelmed by Influx of Captured Criminals

This just in: This morning at 3:20 est, a large group of battered criminals were delivered to the East End GCPD and another batch were delivered to the Diamond District GCPD at 4:33 est. Commissioner Gordon was stunned by the large haul and wondered what force could've taken down so many criminals in such a short period of time. Wedged between one of the evil doers and what looked like grappling line filament was a sticky note that read, "not everyone looks good in black and blue except me(turn to other side)." Gordon was puzzled by the note because there wasn't one criminal that wore those colors, so he turned the sticky over. On the other side of the note, it read, "just in case that went over your head, I was referring to the bruises on the delivery of meat I just sent your way. Sincerely yours, Deacon of The Coalition."

Do you know this man?

Two weeks ago a black male John Doe was admitted to Gotham General under largely unnoticed circumstances. Today, it seems the circumstances are now largely remarkable as the John Doe who was in a two week long coma has woken and is displaying telekinetic and psychokinetic abilities. Yesterday he was moved to S.T.A.R labs medical wing for further examination and security. It seems the gentleman is also unaware of who he is and so as a favor to the authorities we're running his image in the local papers to see if someone will come forward to identify him.

We'll provide more information as it becomes available.

Villains Strike Back!

It seems Metropolis' evildoers won't be backing down without a fight. In a surprise move, a contingent of Legion of Sin villains raided a S.T.A.R. Labs Training area where many heroes were practicing control over there abilities, no one was spared and a few of the heroes that ended up hospitalized were Captain Barbell, Sir Burnsington, Katmandu, SSJ Carlos and FlameGirl.

Private Masque joins The Coalition

In a move many claimed to have "seen coming" the vigilante Private Masque is now a member of The Coalition. Many civilians claim to have seen the former member of The Others partnering with the group's leader, Deacon, frequently in the last month and to many in the superhero community this was expected.

We'll do our best to reach out to elements inside The Coalition organization for more information on this new development.

Massive Hero Offensive!

Early Sunday evening, elements of Meta Justice, Dream Team, Sovereign Knights, Dark Ambush, Nomads, Living Legends, Straw Hats, Team Supreme among many others successfully conducted raids on three villain hideouts in Metropolis and two hideouts in Gotham.  Reports are still coming in as to the number of arrests that were made, but several members of Legion of Sin were apprehended among many others.

Is this a new era of Hero cooperation as a result of the villain offensives that have been mobilized recently? We'll do our best to reach out the organizers of these raids for more information.

IGN Describes how to CANCEL DCUO

IGN posted this one day ago: http://ps3.ign.com/articles/114/1148680p1.html

Some people may think this is no big deal. We're not one of them. Who'd consider cancelling a game that exceeded expectations and was the great superhero online experience that everyone envisioned?

The Daily Planet Pledge

Our blog has no heroic or villainous associations . It's our intent to remain neutral and simply REPORT the news and other events from inside DCUO. In a nutshell, many of us were really disappointed that "news stories" inside DCUO won't be available for everyone in the game to see. We feel like there needs to be a way to highlight events, instances and focus on who's being a GREAT hero or villain--so we're gonna do it. But YOU have to help us. Stop a bank robbery in Gotham? Putting together an evil plan? Send it to us so we can write it up as a news story. Or recreate it in short story form from your character's perspective! we also want to show another side to the characters (and the people that play them) by doing interviews. We know people are ALWAYS interested in gossip as well...so any information from inside superhero/villain teams about new members, your new nemesis, who's at odds, who got OWNED and other stories are certainly welcome.

Interview: FlameGirl

In the latest issue of SuperHeroHype Magazine, we sit down with no other than Flame Girl of the newly -formed Meta Justice, one of Metropolis' newer brand of superheroes. In our interview she tell us her views on The Elemental crisis, ridding our streets of the Brainiac presence and the superhero "God Complex".

1. "Newer superheroes" have been getting a reputation of doing more harm that good recently, any opinions?
I haven't seen much, but what I have seen is troubling, indeed. These "newer heroes" don't seem to know which side they're on. It worries me for the future of all heroes. But, as I've said, I haven't seen much of this to date. I have been more focused on the internal administation of Meta Justice.

Force Missing? Elemental Murderer Found?

Has The Coalition member met an untimely death?

Private Masque Spotted with Deacon

Many heroes and villains (for more nefarious reasons of course) alike have wondered what had become of Private Masque. After the recent shake up of the team formerly known as The Others, Private Masque had assured everyone that he was still active in the fight against crime but despite his words, he had gone missing for quite sometime. A local Gotham resident was able to capture a photo of the secretive vigilante with none other than Deacon of The Coalition

Blue In The Face: Hero Destroys Meth Factory

Here in Bludhaven, crime obviously runs rampant. Every type of crime, running from murder to robbery, happens every day. But what about the crimes that don’t happen in broad daylight, the crimes that go on in the dark basements where everything reeks of cruelty and the criminals don’t have powers. Who takes care of them?

Villain Gloats after Massive Assault

Daily Planet reporter Vicky Vale was fortunate enough to stop the villain, Zedigg, a new member of the Legion of Sin as he left the late-night attack at the Midtown Police Station, she was able to get a few quotes as he and other villains left the scene of the carnage.

Demon Attack Aftermath

Judgement in the streets.  That is precisely what happened earlier today in the downtown core, when the celestial entity known as the Spectre was allegedly driven mad, resulting in innocent people being transformed into fearsome spirits, apparently intent on passing final judgment on the everyday citizens of Metropolis.

Who is...Raiyn?

Several reports this week have focused on a previously unknown superhero protecting the streets of Gotham.Gotham citizens describe this hero calling himself "Raiyn" similar to the medieval Celtic warrior. Could Gotham have a new mysterious protector watching from the shadows?

F.LA.G. meets to discuss Villain Threat

One group of heroes is meeting the organizing villain horde head on. During their first official F.L.A.G meeting, over 100 members of the largest and one of the most influential hero organizations met to talk shop, goals, and the threat of an allied group of villains.

Bio: TeleJoke (part 1)

Marcus was a brilliant child. He was eight but had such an inquisitive mind. But his parents didn’t understand.

Apocalypto Issues Manifesto

The Daily Planet recently received a correspondence from someone claiming to be Apocalypto, the vicious leader of The Legion of Sin. This "manifesto" seems to outline (in a rambling, maniacal fashion) some of the villain's motivations and his way-of-thinking. It also mentions several hero groups that may be future targets.

As always, we'll report more details of this story as they become available.

POV: Animus Vanishes!

He lay there so sound asleep one would almost think that he had passed in the night. He was hooked up to so many machines, the bleeping and sirens unconsciously driving him insane. Did they know that he was nearly completely healed, did they understand his spirit, his power, no…they only thought they knew. He heard the voice of Superman a moment ago; his voice had resonance of concern, and he was not alone, Flame Man was with him. He misunderstood their worry, or rather his mind translated it into disappoint. His doubt in himself was something like a tragic opera replaying in his mind.

Civilians Protest Unmonitored Heroes

Wodan Berserk threatening camera man

We see them everyday now in the major cities. They pull us out of burning buildings and beat up the occasional trans-dimensional robot. Most people around the world are, without a doubt, happy to see the new generation of heroes but what about us in the actual cities who have to put up with them day in and day out?

Legion Of Sin Planning Something BIG?

After news of a massive villain meeting at Striker Island and a power struggle where The Legion of Sin and Iconic Villains emerged victorious, now sources are revealing that something BIG may be in the works. Is there an evil offensive on the horizon? Informants are now telling stories of members of the LOS meeting with several longtime villains to gain their support in some sort of massive villain movement.

Solomon Grundy, Deathstroke, Bizzaro and Circe are just a few of the names that have been revealed as allied with this villain consortium. We haven't gotten comments from any hero spokesmen on this breaking development, but we mean to. Does this begin a new era of villain cooperation? The implications on a legitimate shift in the balance of power have many authorities fearful and nervous.

BREAKING NEWS!!: DOZENS OF SUPER CRIMINALS IN CRITICAL CONDITION

James Gadney here. I just received words from an unknown source that dozens of thugs and super criminals were just admitted to Merci General around 2 hours ago at 2:22 est. From what we're told, there are no deaths among those admitted but the lot of them have been seriously injured. The entire DP "ON THE SCENE" staff have been mobilized and will be accompanying me to the hospital to get more details on exactly what happened. We will give more info as it is released. Keep checking back and we should be able to give better details as to what exactly went on. For now, here a photo from where the incident occurred, the popular underworld hangout known as "The Tap Room." We do know that the individual in the photo is Sazuki. She is a member of the super villain group known as The Dark Gods. She was the first to be admitted in front of a string of beaten criminals.

Villain Consortium at Strikers Island?

Not much is known about the gathering of several large and influential villain groups that took place at this secret location recently, but what we can gather from underworld sources is that a villain "council" or sorts met there to decide on ways to organize and unite their forces. Sources also tell us that there was a massive power struggle and that elements of The Legion of Sin and Iconic Villains emerged victorious. (continued on page 4)

Dream Team thwarts EMP Terrorist

During the early hours of yesterday, a former S.T.A.R Labs scientist turned terrorist held Gotham for ransom demanding 10 million dollars or he would detonate an EMP Device that would destroy every electrical device within 4 miles of downtown. During a tense three-hour long negotiation, Dream Team sprung into action and located the terrorist at his hidden location (which was reportedly near the Batcave) disabled the device and quickly put down the small team of commandos that protected him. The Dream Team strikeforce consisted of Foresight, Eliphaz, Coldfists, Death God, BurningFlash, RockToonz, Kid Kadabra, and Royaltee.

At press time Dream Team was still being debriefed by authorities. We will reach out to them for comments as more information becomes available.
