Metropolis Federal Building Explodes!

Add Metropolis to the list of cities now gripped by the hands of super-powered terrorism. At 4:20am this morning, The Metropolis Federal Building exploded. The confirmed loss of life is expected to be at catastrophic levels and authorities on the scene are still looking for survivors that could be trapped in the rubble.

Superhero Teams quickly flocked to the area and Superman commented for the Justice League about 15 minutes ago. "What we know is this, a little after 9am a still-unidentified metahuman flew to this location and released enough power to bring the building down. The investigation is ongoing and we're asking that civilians avoid this area presently. An allied group of heroes ranging from Meta Justice, The PeaceKeepers, The Vanguardians, New Justice and several other teams are doing our best to assist in the efforts near the former location of the federal building."

A S.T.A.R Labs employee under the condition of anonymity spoke to us briefly "We already know the energy signature, we're just waiting for the official release before they announce who was responsible." He also confirms the existence of a message burned into the concrete at the building's former foundation that read: "From the ashes of our enemies we are born again. This event marks the rise of true villains on a scope that Gotham and Metropolis have never yet seen."
