More Movement Types?

The beauty of DCUO will be the vast amount of new content we'll see on a regular basis. The great thing about playign a subscription-based MMO is that new content is ASSURED. On that note, we've decided to do our latest article on new movement types that we'd like to see in the future. We're more than satisfied with the current movement types being offered--we know that not everything can be in the game at launch, but perhaps these are some great elements we can see after batches of our lovely new content begins to flow.

Teleporter - This is a movement type isn't it? sure it is. this isn't the combat teleporting that avoids bullets, arrows or energy blasts. This is the type that lets us access the map and choose a spot to appear--instantly. What could be better than getting an alert to a bank robbery in Metropolis, knocking out the bad guys, and tidying up for the police--all before your super-friends get there? NICE.

Superleap - Some character are so strong the can literally leap a "tall building in a single bound" and can cover huge distances. This is a must-have in any superhero themed game.

Steed -Yup, this is the regular non-acrobat character who has to run from place to place. Not so fast! He gets a Steed! What's that? Anything you want really..it could be a floating disc, a motorcycle, a batmobile, an invisible jet, the possibilities are endless.

Swimmer - DC is the universe of Aquaman is it not? We can't forget the ability to move rapidly through the water. Now this means we'll need underwater environments as well, huh? GREAT. The more new content the better. We can't wait to thwart the villains of Atlantis.

We'd like to go on record to re-express our disappointment with the lack of physics from a height/falling standpoint. The other physics look GREAT, and since respawn times are short, what's the big deal with letting vulnerable characters die from a fall that would kill a normal man? This type of consistency makes us be more careful and hurts the game from an Immersion Aspect. Acrobats gliding from buildings even if they don't specify that in their abilities? We don't like it.
