Deacon Cleared of Excessive Force Charges

In light of all the bad news that's been going on with the Elementals and Wolf Knight going missing, there is a piece of gold in all that mud. On Dec 23rd, The Joker facilitated an elaborate escape plan for his injured female partner, Harley Quinn, despite the best efforts of the GCPD. A dozen civilians and police officers were injured and at least 7 of them were killed during the breakout. Law enforcement chased the couple to the abandoned Oliver Toy Factory on the north side of Gotham were a 12 hour long stand-off ensued. (continued on page 3)

During the 13th hour, a skirmish could be heard inside the building, along with nearby transformers blowing up and lighting crashing out some of the windows. 30 minutes later, the crime fighters Deacon and Stormbringer called the cops to come and "wrap this up." To their surprise, most of Jokers gang had been hog-tied or they were hanging from the ceiling from their ankles thanks to Deacon's grappling lines. The most notable of the captives was a now seemingly talkative Quinn who was more than happy to clear Deacon's name of any wrong doing. According to Quinn, the Joker orchestrated the entire story and even going so far as to pay off some under cover cops to beat Harley on her way to Merci General. When asked why she decided to confess, she replied," because this's all apart of my puddin's plan. Mr. J has some fun plans for the Deacon, Stormbringer, and the Bat. It's gonna be good times for everybody!" She refused to divulge anymore info after that. We here at the DP are relieved to see a hero have his name cleared of any wrong doing but hopefully they can stay safe with the Clown Prince of Crime out to get them. Good luck heroes.
