Leader of Meta Justice rescued in Bold Rescue Attempt

In an early morning raid during, a costumed figure baring a resemblance to Superpatriot led an attack on Lexcorp and MFC forces that were transporting Meta Justice founder, Flamegirl, to the more secure facilities at Stryker's Island.

Joined by fellow Meta Justice members Wistal, SSJ Carlos, The Morningstar, and Gynaecologist, the apparently obvious opposers to the newly ratified VRA engaged the prison vehicle convoy near a cleared park in Little Bohemia forcing the aircraft escorting it to the ground.  From there, they easily pushed back MFC and Lexcorp forces already with the convoy and those reinforcing it until Flamegirl was freed and joined the battle with her fellow vigilantes.  Once the attack was over, the members of Meta Justice involved left as quickly as they arrived.

How the time and route of the transfer was leaked is currently under investigation.  Despite recent events involving heroes in the city in pitched battles, there were miraculously no civilian casualties during this incident and very little public property damage.  The damage to Lexcorp and MFC equipment has been estimated to be in the hundreds of millions.  All VRA enforcers were released by medical personnel either on sight or from the hospital later that afternoon.

Was it really Superpatriot that led the attack?  Recent public statements by him suggest that it very well could be. With the founder of Meta Justice freed by her fellow league members, does this mean that all of Meta Justice is in opposition to the VRA or only those that participated in the attack?  As always, the Daily Planet will strive to answer these questions and more and report them as soon as they become available.

  1. I owe these brave individuals my sanity. I will be taking some time to contemplate current events and find my center. These are troubling times that we live in. The world must come to understand that the true measure of a hero is measured by his/her actions and not by how much damage is caused by them. Damage is unavoidable and every life is precious. The VRA will minimize damage to property, yes. But at what cost? How many lives is this government willing to sacrifice to cut spending? How will they gable the guilt of all those lives on their shoulders? Think about these issues and hopefully you will see that his bill is a deathtrap. I shall return to the matters at hand when the dust settles from the blows that have been dealt in this brutal war that has been started by the ignorance and naivete that are ever present in this world.
