While we at the DP Blog certainly appreciate the fervor and passion that many have shown on our "little piece of the internet" much of the back-and-forth has been a little childish and counter-productive. We know that people have pride in their leagues, and we like that, but let's try to find a better way to display it. We're suggesting a 7-day Moratorium on Out Of Character Comments, meaning that between now and March 10th we'd appreciate it if you'd ONLY comment as your Character/Toon would. It can add a nice storyline and some depth to DCUO as some of the insults to opposing players have just gotten silly of late.
Talk really is cheap after all, don't you agree? If you consider yourself a better legion than one of your rivals, or would like to prove your worth, we'd suggest emailing us to setup an Event where things can be settled as God intended--inside the world of DC Universe. Just say the word, we'd be happy to oblige.

I 100% agree. And i thought that was how this was supposed to be. The trolling and flaming is so stupid altho i may be guilty to responding to some of it. Not much... I hope to see this go into effect full force with the next few stories.

ReplyDeleteWould also like to add something... I've always said i have no problem with trash talking and role playing. I have a problem when some one is trying to hard to taunt. Ends up being personal attacks. I also have a huge problem with people using profanity. It gets to serious.
agreed. the profanity is unnecessary. let's see some great In-Character dialog DCers! especially from the bad guys. I can't remember the last time i've seen how nothing will stop (insert villain name here) evil plot. Channel your inner Lex Luthor!

ReplyDeleteSigh... I agree blogs and arguments are sucking the life out of me. At this point I just want to have fun again. I was accused of being a bad leader but in reality I have a job, kids to take care of and real life responsibilities, So I cant be on 24/7. I know for a fact that the individuals that left my league because I was a "bad leader" are "unemployed" and have all day and night to play. I do my best to try to run a good league, and when I give members the same permissions I have as leader(add members, remove members, edit motto etc.. I expect for people to hold it down while i'm gone, not bail on me. My point is I want to log onto DCUO and have fun, not deal with ridiculous drama. Of coarse we can have trash talk once in a blue but lets do it so we offend the online character and not the player. Although you know the person in the, you have no idea what going on in that persons life in reality. I know I have a rep for stirring up things with meta justice and dream team, but i have never crossed the line, Iv kept it strictly in-game. To be honest all these disrespectful comments Iv been seeing lately are really upsetting me...Its a dam shame what we are saying to each other. Excuse my French mag but i think we all need to grow the F$%K up. In the end this is just a game and it is intended for fun. So lets get our ishh together and do this right.

I understand the difficulties of juggling real life and the game all too well. I may not have kids, but I have a demanding job and quite a few people vying for my attention. And I also understand that real life trumps the game hands down. I do make an effort to try and get on for at least a few hours each day if I can. I do ask for a pretty big commitment from my members to be on at least 5 days a week, but if real life interferes with that it's ok. Handle what you have to handle, and if the rest of LoS feels you can handle retaking leadership, I wish you the best of luck.

These comments you've been putting up lately make me lol because it was quite a different tune your singing now from when we all had your back. You say we backstabbed you, yet your the first one to start posting up on blogs and your own forums slamming the people that left for incredibly legitamite reasons.
And whats up with taking "a vacation" when your league needs you the most. Those are the kind of leadership skills that made us leave in the first place. I have a 9-5 job too and I know its hard to juggle, but if that was the case you should have gave people leadership powers in your abscence. Not leave them in the dark wondering what the hell is going on.

To this end the leagues/legions, from Metropolis and Gotham downwards, have been loaded with every variety of abuse and charged with all conceivable crimes. This may be very comforting to philanthropic persons at home; but when an army in the field becomes imbued with the idea that the enemy are vermin who cumber the earth, instances of barbarity may easily be the outcome. This unmeasured condemnation is moreover as unjust as it is dangerous and unnecessary.

ReplyDeleteThis is an entirely different Apocalypto than what I've seen over /versus chat and heard in my own damn league voice channel today. Don't know if it's hypocrisy or just bold, two faced lying, but as far as Meta Justice is concerned there is no "rivalry" with Legion of Sin because Legion of Sin doesn't exist to us or most of the hero community on No Man's Land. It's because you have crossed the line and today is an example of you continuing to cross it. (End of OOC)

ReplyDeletewell it wasnt intentional, i was told that i could liten up on other people chats, so i was curios to see and the only league i could think of was MJ, when i got in, all of DK was already there talking smack, i was just listening in for like 10 min until my name was brought up, so defended myself. I wasnt trying to start things in MJ's chat on to be an ass.
