Protest Against Superhumans Take Place in D.C.
Today a large number of protesters showed up in Washington D.C. today to protests the government's lack of oversight over the superhero/vigilante populace. David Lancing, the founder of Super heroes need Regulation too or SNRT for short, organized and funded the rally. "I know that these guys [super heroes] mean well but sometimes they go about saving the day in a rather reckless fashion," Mr. Lancing stated. He also went on to say, "we just want, at the very least, for the U.S. government to hold these individuals accountable for their actions. The most desirable result would be to train and license these guys so that they can better protect us."
Senate Majority Leader, Senator John Boehner (R), has taken an unusually bold stance and has gone on record as saying he fully supports David Lancing and his cause. "Americans should feel safe whenever a super hero swoops down to save them." Senator Reid added that, "Americans SHOULD NOT have to worry about whether or not their insurance covers damage caused by acts of super-human vigilantism. Home, automobile, or life insurance premiums going up because they are in an area with high metahuman activity are the last thing anyone wants to thin a recession."

ReplyDeleteWith so many people having powers due to the exobytes it is nearly impossible to have everyone do their job perfectly. How can we make them understand?
Man. This is the crap I had to deal with down south. I hope they don't try and force the crap on the entire country. While you are eliminating some collateral damage by untrained heroes, you're also delaying our response time to super powered threats via a bunch of red tape and political hub bub. Things will not run as smoothly as before if we have to resort to taking orders from the government.
ReplyDeleteThe application of justice supersedes any useless attempt to track or catalog people with super abilities. The Coalition will never agree to anything like this.
ReplyDeleteWhile I understand where they are coming from, I't would just endanger them more. I'm sad to say that they cannot be made to understand this until they see the consequences first hand. If we are made to answer to the government, we will not be able to respond before the evildoers accomplish their goals and make their escape. I pray that the government see the truth in this and makes the right decision.....
ReplyDeleteI only wish that ordinary people had an unlimited capacity for doing harm; then they might have an unlimited power for doing good.
ReplyDeleteI was really too honest a man to be a politician and live.
They have themselves called us, not lackees, but Mr senetor Reed himself. As for lancing im sure it has something to do with his hot daughter dating a super.

The Government simply cannot make up their mind or they cannot get the president to make up his mind. So they go on in strange paradox, decided only to be undecided, resolved to be irresolute, adamant for drift, solid for fluidity, all powerful for impotency. And so we go on preparing more months more years precious perhaps vital for the greatness of our country for the locusts to eat."
