"WAR" on the streets of Gotham pt. 1

Late last night two of Gotham's finest were killed during a brazen bank robbery. Officer Juan Sanchez, age 36, a father of two young children and Officer Rick Vaughn, 24, who was on his first week on the job, were both killed witnesses say by members of the mysterious villain legion WAR. The villains also escaped Gothams' first national bank with an estimated 11 million dollars.
At approximately 12:14 am security cameras captured the four assailants, who have been identified as the fire power houses Jimbo and Big Red, as well as the masters of the arcane arts Aether and Doom. My sources say it was Jimbo who made the entrance into the bank, courtesy of a Volcanic boulder through the wall. Once inside cameras caught Big Red melting the hinges off of the main vault and easily flinging the 2 ton vault door through the roof. It was later found six blocks away. Cameras inside the vault showed the remaining two villains nonchalantly stuffing four large duffel bags with money. At one point even stopping for a cigarette break and a quick game of rock-paper-scissors. While most would try to be out in a few minutes, these men stayed around 20 minutes. Time was obviously not of the essence. Our sources tell us that as they exited through their make shift door, it was at this time that they were confronted by 3 officers. Weapons drawn the officers ordered the men to surrender themselves. This order was obviously not heeded, as officers Sanchez and Vaughn were killed, each by broken neck. "They killed them both...snapped their necks in front of my face." said GCPD Captain and lone survivor Nick Vellela. "What am i suppose to tell Juan's wife and kids? ...Rick's sick mom... those monsters have to pay."

Captain Vellala, a 15 yr veteran is now in Gotham General receiving treatment for a slight concussion, three broken ribs, and a broken leg. Doctors say he will make a full recovery, but anyone on the scene will tell you how shaken the man was. Commissioner Gordon declined comment. A press conference is scheduled for sometime tomorrow where the Commissioner will release more details from the robbery.
