The Beginning

While Deacon's place of birth is unknown, he was primarily raised outside the small town of Natchez, MS. He lived a relatively quite life with his adoptive father Edmond Adley although he was bullied on a regular basis by the neighborhood kids.

One faithful day at the age of 17, he was once again bullied by three of the neighborhood upstarts, but this time was different. After being brutally beaten by the teens, Kenneth's dormant powers manifested themselves. He quickly dispatched all three of the attackers while local kids from the neighborhood recorded the fight and posted it to up on YouTube. The video was largely believed to be a hoax. At any rate, being in shock from the severe beating and also from the amazing feat he just accomplished, he ran back home to his father.

His father knew this day would come and he'd always wanted to tell Kenneth the circumstances to which he became his adoptive father. Ken was outraged and upset that this man, who had grown to love, was really not his father. He was even more outraged that Edmond had kept this from him for all these years. Along with that, there was quite a few people who had witnessed the fight and recorded what happened and posted it on Youtube. With the video gaining more than a thousand hits an hour and climbing along with everything else that traspired, Ken ran away from home before Edmond was able to explain to him how his powers came as result of his fathers mutations being passed on to him. It would be years before the two ever spoke again.

Going from the South to the North

Deacon spent the next few years floating around Tennessee, Georgia, and Maryland. He spent the most time in Memphis, TN (where he first decided to use his powers to become a vigilante) and Atlanta, GA (where he attended Bauder College). Memphians weren't quite as accepting of having someone in a mask running around beating up on thugs and muggers and eventually a smear campaign was cooked up by the local media and local government officials who were using him as a catch all for their inability to stop a currently occurring crime wave that was plaguing the city.

With law enforcement becoming more and more violent in their attempts to catch him, and the call from local citizens, Deacon decided to leave Memphis and head on to a place that might be more accepting of him. Deacon had just turned 18 years old when he arrived in Atlanta and enrolled in college where he began his studies in Computer Science while at the same time he was moonlighting as a vigilante still.

Once he received his Bachelors degree at 21, he immediately moved to Baltimore, MD and furthered his studies in. It turns out though that Baltimore was just as receiving of him as Memphis was. He continued to try and deal with the hostile public opinion on super powered vigilantes and began to develop a unique freestyle fighting style that complimented his powers. Soon there after, the poor public opinion turned into the cries of a lynch mob for all super heroes and Deac decided to move up north because he'd heard of the stories about super heroes and how they generally held most people with special abilities in high regard. With that in mind, Deacon headed to Gotham City, NJ to make his mark.

Effect of the Exobytes

While on an excursion in New York, NY, Deacon was about to enter an office building of an office believed to belong to the Colonel Langley (the man who's indirectly responsible for Ken gaining his powers and also directly responsible for his mother and father's deaths). As he was about to enter into a secure area through an office window, a shock wave slammed into Deacon. This shock wave was the force of the Exobytes being released into the Earth's atmosphere by version of Lex Luthor from the future. As Deacon tried to shake off the impact from the event, he began to loose control of his powers. His ability to wall crawl seemingly failed on him and he went plummeting to the building below where he lost consciousness on impact. A few hours later, he woke up and made his way home, not knowing what happened and why his powers all of a sudden decided to shut down. It is was thought by many that Deacon had lost his powers but it would seem that he has retained all of his original abilities while gaining a few new ones.

Reputation

During his 7 years as a super hero, Deacon has saved many lives and help prevent numerous disasters in most of the cities he's traveled through. Even with all of this under his belt, local officials seem to target him as a threat sense he tends to upstage them as far as playing a large role in cleaning up whatever city he's in. Other super heroes know better than this and are quick to trust Deacon because of his countless acts of heroism and even though they find him obnoxious at times (because of his constant banter during fights) they realize that he'll go out of his way to help them in their time of need.

Origin of Deacon's Powers

Deacon's father, Hayden Caldwell Lee, was a 2nd Lieutenant in United States Marine Corp who was selected for a so called "Marine Enhancement" program that the USMC Commandant at the time implemented to try and make Marines more efficient in battle. The program used bio nanites to augment and change certain DNA sequences in the host's body. The process was slow and painful but Hayden endured the procedure under the belief that he was doing this for the good of his country. 

During this time, Hayden fell in love with Naval Medical Officer, Ensign Ramona Adley and she returned his affections towards her. As time went on, she became more and more intimate with Hayden and also became racked with guilt because of her knowledge to the true nature of the augmentation program. One night she told Hayden the real reason behind the program was rooted in private interests instead of it being patriotic as he was led to believe. Hayden seemed to have been wrought with anger and lashed out a ENS Adley, pinning her to the ground. Officers quickly entered the room and subdued him.

Because of the Ramona's actions she was decommissioned and sent on her way but knowing the true nature of the investors behind the program she went into hiding. Also during this time, she found out she was 2 months pregnant. She and Hayden had bore a child. She eventually gave birth 7 months later to a healthy young boy but noticing through random occurrences, she became aware that her whereabouts had finally been discovered by the shadow organization who was seeking to silence her permanently. With the hope that they were unaware that she had given birth to Hayden Lee's son, she left the hospital in the middle of the night and traveled to Mississippi where she left her son with her half brother, and Deacon's adoptive father, Edmond "Sensei" Adley. After she explained everything to her brother, she quickly left to avoid being detected. 2 months later, Edmond recieved word that his sister had been in a fatal car crash and died instantly but through his own private sources, found out that she was killed by government assassins.

Powers

Superhuman Strength: He's able to lift 8 tons with medium effort (10 tons when really exerting himself). This strength also extends to his legs as well and can make incredible high leaps when he needs to.

Superhuman agility: Able to perform extremely difficult acrobatic feats with minimal effort, perhaps beyond an Gold medal Olympic level athelete. He’s extremely limber and flexible as well.

Superhuman equilibrium: Has the ability to achieve near perfect equilibrium and balance himself on most objects, no matter what the size is.

Superhuman durability: Highly resistant to impact damage. Able to fall from extreme elevations and walk it off with minimal to mild discomfort.

Regenerative healing factor: Able to recover from from most injuries in a couple of hours. More severe injuries such as broken bones, nerve damage, etc. may take a day or so. Able to recover some body parts if they are removed such as his eyes, tongue, and teeth. He is also highly resistant to hazardous materials but is still able to get ailments like the flu or pnemonia but recovery time is far less than that of the healthiest human. Another benefit of the regenerative healing is that he is able to exert himself for hours at a time because his muscles recover from the effect of fatigue toxins at a very high rate.

Superhuman speed: Also another benefit to having super strength. While not as fast as speedster such as the Flash or Quicksilver he is able to run up to 50 mph.

Intelligence: Deacon is also a very gifted mechanical and computer engineer. He has above average intellect that borderlines genius but not many people are able to see this past his wise-cracks and carefree demeanor.

Matter manipulation: This ability is amongst the least developed of all. He can manipulate the molecules that make contact with his body. He uses this ability mostly to adhere to surfaces, glide for a limited amount of time in the air, mid-air directional change, or for brassing for massive impacts that would otherwise completely uproot a man of his size.
