Fear Vanquished ?!

Dr. Jonathon Crane, aka The Scarecrow, has tormented Gotham City for the better part of two weeks. However, in a shocking turn of events, the Scarecrow has finally been apprehended.

The Daily Planet was the first to report that the G.C.P.D. would be working with the The Batman to thwart the Scarecrow after he acquired a yellow Sinesrto Corps power ring. We also questioned the inaction of Batman to directly confront Crane during his terror spree. Apparently, Batman, along with the G.C.P.D., put into motion a series of events that would ultimately defeat the Scarecrow.

Batman was able to obtain experimental fear dampening technology that was being tested by S.T.A.R. Labs. After strategically placing these dampeners around Crane's location, Batman  lead a task force to confront Crane and to defeat him within the Gotham Sewers.
The task force consisted of J.L.A. members as well as some of Gotham and Metropolis' new heroes, including Helios. As the battle ensued, and in a remarkable display of power, Helios armor transformed in appearance to resemble the cosmic expanse. As Batman distracted him, the team, with the dampeners activate, was able to defeat the Scarecrow. However, it didn't end there. The fear dampeners attracted the attention of the Sinestro Corps, including the intergalactic criminal Sinestro himself. Nevertheless, the heroes were prepared.

Just as the Sinestro Corps arrived, they were intercepted by the Green Lantern Corp. The battle was epic ! As the tide of the conflict began to shift, the Sinestro Corps attempted to flee, only to be pursued by the Lanterns to Metropolis. The battle may have started in Gotham, but it ended in Metropolis, with the yellow Lanterns escaping.

Back in Gotham, Dr. Crane was returned to Arkham Asylum by Batman.

Thereafter, the G.C.P.D. had planned to take Batman into custody, yet, as usual, Batman was able to give them the slip.

Commenting on Batman's escape, Commissioner Gordan stated "We will continue to work tirelessly to bring the vigilante called Batman to justice. We certainly appreciate his help in capturing the Scarecrow, and his assistance will be taken into consideration, but he is still a fugitive and a top priority of the G.C.P.D."

The Daily Planet would like to thank all involved in putting the Scarecrow back  where he belongs, Arkham Asylum. As always the Daily Planet will continue to keep you up-to-date on all news as it develops. This is Bob Harley signing out......

  7. "Crane just couldn't lay low. He allowed the power to consume him. These do-gooders are starting to piss me off ! My fellow villains are just as inept. Villains, this cannot continue. We must make these heroes fall before us."
