What must DCUO do to succeed on PS4?

Our blog has been largely dormant as many of the missteps of DCUO gameplay and decisions regarding its development killed its momentum and we rarely if ever play the game anymore. But today's news about DCUO moving to PS4 peaked our interest if for no other reason that it may mean the game can reinvent itself.

The Daily Planet Pledge

Our blog has no heroic or villainous associations . It's our intent to remain neutral and simply REPORT the news and other events from inside DCUO. In a nutshell, many of us were really disappointed that "news stories" inside DCUO won't be available for everyone in the game to see. We feel like there needs to be a way to highlight events, instances and focus on who's being a GREAT hero or villain--so we're gonna do it. But YOU have to help us. Stop a bank robbery in Gotham? Putting together an evil plan? Send it to us so we can write it up as a news story. Or recreate it in short story form from your character's perspective! we also want to show another side to the characters (and the people that play them) by doing interviews. We know people are ALWAYS interested in gossip as well...so any information from inside superhero/villain teams about new members, your new nemesis, who's at odds, who got OWNED and other stories are certainly welcome.

Lastly, we want to be a place where we can highlight the great suggestions, proposed fixes and known imbalances that the people who are playing the game think are important in an organized, educated and balanced manner--we want to avoid the complaint-type threads that often appear on forums after people have a bad experience.

That's our pledge. DC Universe fans UNITE!

We're Recruiting!

That's right! The Daily Planet Blog is recruiting again. We had a brief hiatus due to lack of manpower but with a few new contributors onboard we're ready to get rolling again. Here's the thing: We don't want them to get swamped with emails regarding Headlines, interviews and all the other wonderful things we do.

Ever thought about working with us? What we do is pretty simple, among other things we craft user contributions into Headlines, draft Interviews and develop story and plot lines that are featured on our blog. Interested? GREAT. Send us an email at magww@live.com expressing your interest and we'll "see what you got" please keep in mind that what we do we do for fun, it's on a volunteer basis. But we promise not to fire you when the big bucks start rolling in :)

Dismissal!

His supporters cheered, while his detractors in the courtroom had a look of concerned disapproval on their faces. As expected, Judge Mark Toler decided that a lack of evidence by the prosecution forced him to drop first-degree murder charges against the superhero known as Flameman.

Power Girl & Co. Subdue Demon

A superbattle raged last night not far from the 9th precinct in Gotham. JL Member Power Girl with the help of numerous heroes including Bulletproof Tiger of the Overlords, Dark Vector and Outback Maxx of the Absolute Fatalities, was able to subdue the enormously powerful demon, Twiggy Upgraded summoned by none other than the reclusive Peter Dark the dark wizard. The battle raged for almost ten minutes as the demon singlehandedly held off four heroes before eventually succumbing to the continued assault of the cadre of superheroes and vanishing into a thick black smoke. Judge in Flameman trial to rule Tommorrow

After recessing for the weekend, Judge Mark Toler of Gotham is said to be pondering his decision whether to dismiss Murder charges against Meta Militia Leader, Flameman due to lack of evidence. The prosecution was dealt a major setback when Judge Toler ruled that because the alleged videotape of the crime had been handled by multiple costumed vigilantes before ever having the opportunity to be reviewed by authorities. Police Detective Harvey Bullock called it "The last time these friggin' masks tamper with our evidence, we're bringing charges against any of these clowns that try to do our flippin' jobs from now on."

Hero Stops Plane Crash

Its not often that superheroes get the opportunity to prevent tragedies and accidents but thats just what Metropolis hero, Boltflame was able to do today. After hearing about an airline flight that was experiencing multiple engine failure, he took to the skies and used his considerable strength to assist its safe landing. "He's an angel." said one passenger, "Who knows what might have happened had he not acted. We owe him our lives."

At press time, American Airlines was still investigating the cause of the malfunction. We'll continue to provide more information as it becomes available.

Flameman Early Dismissal?

Sources are now telling us that after a motion to dismiss for lack of evidence, the judge in the Trial of Flameman is seriously considering the defense's motion to dismiss all charges. Apparently the fact that the apparent video evidence was disallowed by the judge's ruling yesterday was particularly damaging to the prosecution's case. (continued on page 2)

Opening Statements in Flameman Trial

 Trial of Fire: Part 2
Opening statements in the Trial of Flameman began today and the prosecution was dealt an early blow. Due to the alleged videotape of the Phipher murder being viewed by more than one vigilante (including Coalition member Deacon) before being entered into evidence, the judge presiding over the trial is disallowing it as evidence, alleging that it may have been tampered with. Sources are telling us that the prosecution, led by Gotham DA Kate Spenser, is devastated and that without the videotape the state may not be able to link Flameman to the crime.

In another stunning development, being charged with a crime means the MFC is now privy to Flameman's true identity. This little-known piece included in the VRA legislation now has many hero advocates and privacy groups up in arms.

Flameman puts down Deacon!

As the result of an apparent unprovoked attack just as he was supposed to turn himself in to MFC authorities, Flameman, a suspect in the murder of two heroes battled the vigilante Deacon not far from the MFC Headquarters in Gotham. Witnesses say that as Flameman approached the building, an enraged Deacon hurled himself from a nearby building and began attacking the Meta Militia leader. (continued on page 2)
